Accessibility Statement
Last updated: October 29, 2026
Royal Oaks Home Care cares for older adults and people living with disabilities every day, so we want everyone to be able to use our website easily, whether they use a screen reader, a magnifier, voice control, a keyboard, or simply prefer larger text.
1. Our commitment
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. These are the internationally recognized guidelines for accessible websites, and they are the standard most often used to measure website accessibility under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Accessibility is part of how we design, write, and build every page, not something added on afterward.
2. Accessibility features
- Large, readable text (18px and up) and high-contrast colors that meet or exceed WCAG AA contrast ratios
- Every page works with a keyboard alone, with a clearly visible focus outline and a “Skip to main content” link
- Clear page structure with headings, landmarks, and breadcrumbs for screen reader users
- Text descriptions (alt text) for meaningful images, including the statistics shown in charts; decorative images are hidden from screen readers
- Forms with visible labels, helpful hints, and clear error messages that explain how to fix problems
- Large buttons and links that are easy to tap on phones and tablets
- Pages that can be zoomed to 400% and read on small screens without scrolling sideways
- Animations are minimized for visitors who turn on “reduce motion” in their device settings
- Phone numbers are tappable so you can call us directly from your phone
- Long pages, like this one, start with a list of links to each section
We do not use accessibility overlay widgets. Instead, accessibility is built into the website itself, so it works with the assistive technology and settings you already use, including your browser's own zoom and text-size controls.
3. How we test
Every page of the website is checked against WCAG 2.2 Level AA with automated accessibility testing tools, at both desktop and phone screen sizes, and we recheck pages when we add or change content. Automated tools cannot catch every problem, so we also rely on feedback from the people who use our website. If something doesn't work for you, we want to hear about it.
4. Compatibility
The website is designed to work with current versions of Chrome, Safari, Edge, and Firefox on computers, phones, and tablets, and with common assistive technologies such as VoiceOver, TalkBack, NVDA, JAWS, and screen magnification software. It may not work as well in older browsers that are no longer updated.
5. Known limitations
- Some of our blog articles link to outside websites, such as government agencies and research sources. We can't control how accessible those websites are.
- Our social media pages are hosted by Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and others, and follow those companies' accessibility practices.
6. Other ways to reach us
You never have to use our website to get help. You can also:
- call us any time, 24/7, at (561) 502-5919, and we can read any information on this website to you over the phone;
- call through the Florida Relay Service by dialing 711 if you are deaf, hard of hearing, or have a speech disability;
- send us a text message at the same number; or
- ask us for information in another format, such as large print or email, and we will do our best to provide it.
7. Feedback and assistance
If you have trouble using any part of this website, or have a suggestion for making it easier to use, please contact us. Tell us the page you were on and what happened, and we will help you right away and work to fix the problem.
